Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) is a tool for mobilising grassroots support on the global level for the Palestinian struggle for justice.
This year, IAW carried the motif, #PeopleAgainstApartheid. Herein, we shed light on how supporting the Palestinian struggle allows us to reflect on the discrimination and forms of injustice our own communities and societies.
From 13 -26 March 2023, the Palestine Solidarity Alliance, together with numerous organisations affiliated to the South African BDS Coalition, engaged in a series of events and discussions to raise awareness about the plight of Palestine and build long-term, intersectional campaigns against Apartheid Israel.
IAW started on the 13th of March 2023 in South Africa and will run until the the 24th. Various events have been organised by different Palestinian solidarity organisations, centred around the global theme – People Against Apartheid. This year, we highlighted the ways in which Apartheid Israel has intensified its system of segregation, fragmentation and control to maintain its system of settler-colonial oppression and domination over Palestinian lives and land.

This Human Rights Day, join us for a screening of Palestinian movie ‘Farha.’
The movie tells the story of Palestinian girl who survived the Nakba of 1948, when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were expelled from their homeland by Zionist militias.
By depicting events through the eyes of a young girl, the film intimately captures the deeply personal, heart-wrenching narratives of the Palestinian catastrophe.
