Walk for Freedom 2025

On the morning of Sunday 5 October 2025, Rose Park in Lenasia, Johannesburg became a sea of banners, flags, and chants as hundreds gathered for the “Walk for Freedom” march in solidarity with Palestine. Organised by the Palestine Solidarity Alliance (PSA), the event drew community members, civil society groups, faith-based organisations, youth activists and families — all united in demanding an end to what they decry as genocide in Gaza and continued oppression in the occupied territories. A “Walk for Freedom” is being held in Lenasia south of Johannesburg in support of the people of Palestine who continue to endure hardships and attacks by Israeli soldiers. For more on this we are now joined by SABC News Reporter Calvin Dludla who catches up with Naazim Adam from the Palestine Solidarity Alliance South Africa who organised the annual march.
